Hey guys,
Please use examcollection.com to find the updated version, use it to practice and study the materials very well.
Will keep this post for anyone who would like to discuss the exam scenarios.
Try to simulate what you have studied on VM ,and remember that Microsoft recommends that candidates have at least one year experience implementing and maintaining a network operating system in a typical medium to large organization, one year experience implementing and maintaining desktop operating systems, and one year experience designing network architectures, that is because the questions require troubleshooting skills which is something you cannot find in books.
Books tell you how things work and your experience gives you the troubleshooting skills that you need to pass the exam and success in your life.
The certification can drive you to the interview very quickly ,BUT, your study and Experience are the things that let you pass the job interview.
Good luck everyone.

So far I agree with most of your answers, can you check Q 43, I think the answer is B.
June 23, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Can you explain your answer for Q28
June 23, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Hey Makaveli21..
Just to confirm…q43 is about moving mail box from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2003…right?
B is moving using the move mail box wizard which is valid only when both 5.5 and 2003 servers are on the same organization…in this question. it says that they are in separate organizations thus the migration wizard should be used.

Q28 is the one about which server to map outlook client to…right?
Mapping them to the EVS (answer B) will work, however the MS best practice is to map the client to the FE server so whatever you do in the BE will not impact the end-users

Thanks for clarifying q43, makes perfect sense now.

Q28 – B
The front-end server is the point of communication between the clients and the back-end servers. The front-end server:
Communicates with clients using the following protocols:
HTTP
HTTPS
POP3
IMAP4
SMTP
RCP over HTTP to allow Outlook 2003 clients to connect to the front-end server using HTTP
Communicates with back-end servers using the same protocols. However, when HTTPS is used by the client, the front-end server uses HTTP to communicate with back-end clients. In this case, use IPSec to secure front-end to back-end communications.
No longer hosts mailboxes or public folders.
Is typically accessible through the Internet (although you can also use a front-end server internally).
Contacts Active Directory to determine the home server for each client (the server where the mailbox is stored).
You must specifically configure a front-end server by editing the properties of the server object in Exchange System Manager.
Back-end servers host mailboxes and process client requests. By definition, all Exchange Server 2003 computers are back-end servers. When you configure a front-end server, you do not need to complete any additional tasks to configure the back-end servers.

Q-43
Exchange Tasks Wizard Use the Exchange Tasks Wizard during an *intra-organization* migration to move mailboxes from an Exchange 5.5 server to an Exchange Server 2003 server.
Exchange Server Migration Wizard Use the Migration Wizard during an *inter-organization* migration to export Exchange data from the Exchange 5.5 organization to Exchange 2003. Note: The Exchange Server Migration Wizard only moves mailboxes. It does not export distribution lists, custom recipients, or public folders.

Hey Ibe,
I agree with you, however:
by mapping the clients to the EVS (which is in this case BE EVS) will lose the main advantage of having a FE server which is “Single namespace”.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124804(EXCHG.65).aspx
Let’s assume that you have changed the cluster to include another EVS or you changed it to 4 nodes active/passive with 3 EVS; the best practice is to map the clients to the FE and the FE has to worry on which EVS the user mailbox is located now.

Sorry Mu’men. I meant Q28 should be D.
June 23, 2009 at 9:15 pm
No Worries Ibe
June 23, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Q42 -D (only if the exhibit show it is at organizational level)
Task Permission Required
Create an Exchange Server 2003 cluster
(Member of local Administrators group member on each server node )
Create an Exchange Server 2003 virtual server (Exchange Full Administrator at the organizational level )
Create additional Exchange Server 2003 virtual servers
(Exchange Full Administrator at the administrative group level of the server nodes)
June 23, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Please explain Question 47 or 48 (same question).
I think the answer is D.

Hey Ibe,
This question misses a note to explain which organization has the internet MX record for the shared smtp address fabrikam.com after the merge, I had added a comment with this note to the question on my online exam.
the question says Fabrikam.com was set to non-authoritative on contoso however the answers C and D shows the direction for routing unresolved recipients from Contoso to Fabrikam!!
That is why I have selected C, however if D is valid assuming that external MX records is mapped to Contoso servers.
It could be a very tricky questions or I just assumed that: D
Can you please let us know your point of view?

Mr. D explained about Q28 and Q71
for Q: 28, please look at
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/247db34d-ebb2-4039-a3b5-a04722d5aba9
Everyone agree that internal client OUTLOOK MAPI connect to backend server unless it is security concern which you will set RPC over HTTP thru Frontend.
for Q:71 look at http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid43_gci1172543,00.html
and
http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid43_gci1172542,00.html
It seems to that if we use Public Folder Setting, the permission will inherit to parent folder. Therefore, you don’t want to remove the Sales_Admin Group. Please advised.
Thanks
